The Society would like to thank
Primal Raw
for their support at the Society's 76th Championship Show
held at
Watford Woodside Leisure Centre
Horseshoe Lane, Watford, WD25 7HH
on Sunday 21st September 2025.
Now that all paperwork and fees for the RKC have been finalized, I would like to extend, on behalf of the Society, our sincere appreciation to Primal Raw for their ongoing support. We also thank our individual sponsors for their generosity, as well as the stewards and helpers for their dedication and effort. Additionally, we are grateful to the stall holders for providing attendees with valuable opportunities throughout the event. We regret that Terri Morrell, originally appointed as the judge for the girls, was unable to fulfil her duties, and we wish her a swift recovery. We appreciate David Manito stepping in to assume the judging responsibilities, and together with Wayne Jackson, the evaluations were conducted efficiently—a consideration valued by those facing long journeys home. We trust that both judges, as well as referee David Levy, found the day to be rewarding and enjoyable. Finally, we extend our sincere appreciation to all exhibitors for their participation and support. It was encouraging to observe that both SC and the Downlands attracted very respectable entries, providing an appropriate conclusion to what has been traditionally known as the Southern Weekend.

Dogs – Wayne Jackson (Jackabyte)
When the invitation came to Judge this show I was very pleased to accept – a long established club with the breed and its members at heart; thank you. It was such a well organised show, with a warm welcome on arrival and excellent stewards – my thanks are extended to both for their smooth running of the dog ring. The quality of dog exhibits I found to be very good overall with just minor things which do need addressing I guess, like dirty teeth and coats in a few. A few lacked in bone and overall build, some had poor toplines but overall these were in the minority. I found the odd misplaced tooth and tighter canine but not inverted, so in the main mouths were good. My decisions on the day and the sportsmanship shown was as always, brilliant. Thank you to everyone who entered.

PD (9,1) 1. Bassford-Lane’s JOJALANE I DRINK WINE. Red with white. I really liked this young dog. He is not overdone in any way and offers everything in balanced proportions. He is put down in really good condition, something I always look for. He has a balanced head with dark well placed eyes which gave me a pleasing look, his darker mask enhanced his facial expression. He has a certain glint in his eye which I know so well, loved it! He has a correct bite with good sized teeth. Straight front with enough bone. Good width to his front and a brisket which easily filled my hand and had correct depth. He had a level topline which he also held whilst moving, which was positive and driving once settled. His body is of good proportion being close-coupled leading to his rear which had good muscular shape and tone with a good bend of stifle. I liked his overall style and he fits the bill for his age – not being overdone in any area. A young dog who I am sure will go on to do very well. I was very happy to award him Best Puppy Dog and he later went Best Puppy In Show. 2. Curtis’ EASTREET BILLY BUMPA. B/br with a powerful head housing a strong skull with good width and depth. LD (17,3) 1. Marsden’s JAYNEZE DOCTOR JIMMY AT MODLIFE. Now this dog from ringside always had my interest but I sometimes wondered if he was quite enough for me. Well, I can honestly say when he stood in front of me he immediately got my attention; his profile and balance was evident and hands on him confirmed what I had always assumed, that he was hard to touch with excellent muscle coverage and definition. His head is clean and balanced with such a pleasing expression from nice dark round eyes placed well. He has an alert glint in his eye giving him the edge. Great cheek muscles added to his head shape. Straight in front with good bone and up on his pasterns on neat feet. Width of chest and depth to his brisket correct. In profile his outline was clean, unexaggerated, defined and balanced. Good topline and bend of stifle. Rear was padded with muscle showing a good level of definition. His conditioning showed in his profile and his gleaming coat enhanced his brindle colour. Handler worked with him to get good movement, driven and positive. I was pleased to award him the Reserve Dog CC. 2. Moorcroft’s ELLCHANSHA CHARM THE DEVIL AT MOORSTAR JW. B/br, standard dog full of breed type. Classic head shape of good overall size and proportions. He has a lovely expression from dark round eyes and neat ears which he used well. Clean outline. OD (14,2) 1.Sheldon’s CH KAMARISTAFFS ROYAL RANSOM AT BOWTMAN JW. I could easily just say “what can I write about this dog that hasn’t already been said” but I’m not going to do that – I want to write what I myself saw. Yes he is indeed a very worthy champion and what a dog he is. I remember someone who was well known, knowledgeable and respected in our breed said – when you look at a male dog he should look like a stallion example, no ifs no buts, just all male. This is exactly what he is – a stallion with strength and a touch of class to boot. Strong head with great width and depth of skull with neat rose ears and an alert attentive expression. Ample width of chest with good forechest and straight front with sturdy bone. Correct depth of brisket with great spring of rib. He has a level topline and is tucked up into strong loins which were light and muscular into a rear which is firm and shapely with powerful width to drive him along with flowing movement. He is a dog you just can’t ignore. He has the breed standard stamped through him – there is no perfect dog we know that, but on this day he did it for me! Pleased to award him my Dog CC and he later went on to take Best In Show, on referee David Levy’s decision. 2. Wilson’s CH NORTHSTAFF NIGHTMARE JW. A b/br dog who gives you everything on examination. Standard sized, compact in body and coupling. He has good width and depth of skull with a balanced proportionate head. Really nice expression, from well placed dark eyes and neat ears. His outlines and profile were clean, neat and tidy with no exaggeration. He has a well boned straight front with tight feet. Ample width of chest and brisket falls to correct depth, with enough ribcage to suit his frame. Level topline. He is short coupled and has a defined muscular rear. Light enough in loin without looking too pinched. Didn’t put a foot wrong. Put down in great condition. Shown very well and was handled perfectly. 3. Davies’ CH HASBURYSTAFF TOP GUN JW. R. Pickett’s VALGLO TOP GUN.VHC. Mr R & Mrs P Lloyd- Williams CH. CWMHAF CELTIC QUEST.
VD (4,1) 1. Lewis’ CH BIGGLESWICK SPLASH OF GINGE. 10 year old, mature red dog of quality. He just doesn’t look his age and still has a ring presence and frame to outshine some younger dogs. Strong in head but without exaggeration. He has an engaging expression from well placed dark eyes; wish he used his ears a tad more though. Ample width to his chest with straight well boned front. His brisket is correct depth and he has good rib. Still holds his level topline well when standing and on the move. His fitness and conditioning were evident and hats off to his owners for keeping him in this condition. Broad, muscular rear producing good movement. He moves freely around the ring in front of his handler giving a perfect profile view. Shown to advantage. Best Veteran Dog. 2. Rowe & South’s ILLORI AKINLANA JW ShCM VW. B/br dog, another who belies his 11 years of age, with just his distinguished white peppered muzzle hinting of his years. Super condition with a lovely profile. Not quite as strong in head as 1st but he has a balanced, proportioned head with good length of muzzle. Well boned through his straight front. Good width of chest and forechest. Correct depth to his brisket. Another who held his topline. His muscle coverage throughout was evident and firm to touch. He has an attitude to boot which commands you look at him. A veteran who thoroughly deserves his successes and went through his paces really well. A credit to his handler/owner. 3. Johnson’s ELLCHANSHA HOTSHOT.
